Class 4 - Yearling Wethers: 12 to under 24 months

Entry #1 ~ Points Earned = 0.5
Bucking Adoeable Ranger ~ Owned by Bucking Adoeable Fainters (Ramona, CA) ~ DOB: 02-23-14 ~ DOLP: 10-16-15
Judge's comments: I place this wether first.  This first place wether is a very smooth, well balanced wether, not as muscular as some of the other wethers in this show, but with good balance from loin to hip and very correct legs. He is well deserving of a first place.

Class 5 - Two Year Old Wethers: 24 to under 36 months

Entry #1 ~ Points Earned = 0.5
Hanna's Zach ~ Owned by Hanna's Upside Down Goats (Iowa) ~ DOB: 12-23-13 ~ DOLP: 01-31-16
Judge's comments: I place this wether first. He is a very deep bodied wether with a straight topline. It may be the way the picture was taken, but it looks as though he may toe out a bit in the front, and I wish I could lengthen him just a little, but overall a very nice wether with a lot of muscling.

Class 6 - Three Year Old Wethers & Over: 36 months & over

Entry #4 ~ Points Earned = 2.0
Triple-T Bubba ~ Owned by Courtney Teichert (Ramona, CA) ~ DOB: 02-01-12 ~ DOLP: 08-23-15
Judge's comments: I place this wether first. Overall, he is the aged wether who still shows the most correctness in the class. Wethers have a tendency to show wear and tear earlier than does and bucks as they age. This wether still has a good clean shoulder, excellent muscling, and a good topline for an older wether. He also has good width from front to back.

Entry #3 ~ Points Earned = 1.5
Triple-T Centurion ~ Owned by Bucking Adoeable Fainters (Ramona, CA) ~ DOB: 12-16-11 ~ DOLP: 09-06-15
Judge's comments: I place this wether second. He is also a good example of an aged wether. He is a taller wether than the first place, with a good long neck and consistent width from front to back. He is showing a slight break in the chine, which is not uncommon for older wethers, but it keeps him from being able to bump our black wether today.

Entry #1 ~ Points Earned = 1.0
Bell's Goats Mr Hopeful "Petey" ~ Owned by Yama Goats (Utah) ~ DOB: 04-14-11 ~ DOLP: 03-20-16
Judge's comments: I place this wether third. Both our third and fourth place wethers are big handsome boys, but they are a little fine boned for the size of their bodies at this time. The red and white wether has good width of body, and has a strong topline with a more balanced rump than the black and white in fourth.

Entry #2
Shakey Acres Peyton "Casper" ~ Owned by Yama Goats (Utah) ~ DOB: 03-16-11 ~ DOLP: 03-20-16
Judge's comments: I place this wether fourth. He is another large bodied wether. He is a little narrower made than the fourth place wether, and his rump is a little steeper to the tail than I like to see for this breed, but overall a nice aged wether.

Judge's comments: This will be my Senior Champion. Overall, he is the aged wether who still shows the most correctness in the class. Wethers have a tendency to show wear and tear earlier than does and bucks as they age. This wether still has a good clean shoulder, excellent muscling, and a good topline for an older wether. He also has good width from front to back. Judge's comments: My Reserve Senior Champion will be another aged wether. He has a great topline for an aged wether with such a long back, and he still has good consistent width from front to back.
